Perhaps the statistical rise in usage is due to the fact that reporting usage was criminal before decriminalization.
That is not at all how analysis works. You can read the article or paper to learn.
Exactly this. I hate those stupid propaganda “news”. It’s pretty obvious why.
Maybe read the article to see how science is done. They’ve accounted for this.
Yep, and there’s plenty of people who would benefit from a some marijuana usage, but would never do it through other means.
Freeman said the findings, published in Lancet Psychiatry, were “encouraging” for policymakers who were considering decriminalising cannabis or strictly regulating the drug in legal markets. The impact of an open market, where the drug is sold in a similar way to alcohol and tobacco, was very different, however.
This is an article about how capitalism ruins everything.
This is an article about how people like to get high, and the ability to safely buy quality/trust worthy product makes them feel more comfortable doing so.
You could make every dispensary a Government entity in the way that some states run their liquor stores, and the effect would be exactly the same. Stop making capitalism the boogieman for every negative you perceive in the world.
My states liquor stores are all state run, dispensaries are private. For every liquor store there’s probably at least 3 or 4 dispensaries. It’s crazy how many more places there are to buy weed than liquor here and I’m all for it lol
Really? How useful, really, is having so many of them? I feel like there are so many more kinds of storefront that could use that space and serve a better spectrum of the community. The weed shops I’ve been in have all had very little inventory for the size of the space they’re in.
Weed shops around me usually have all sorts of inventory. Ounces range from 60 for basically shake and popcorn nugs to over 300 for “designer” strains! I usually buy ounces between 100 and 120$ and their pretty gas testing 20-27 % depending on strain. Only usefulness to so many storefronts for me is that I have lots of choice and price competition. I think part of why there’s so many pot shops around me is in the winter we see a huge influx of tourists, so I think most of their business comes from out of staters.
This entire penguin has a point.
It’s time to nationalize all vital industries.
Starting with cannabis.
This penguin would prefer a different administration in charge before we nationalize anything.
And realistically a more robust system of government with better safeguards.
I dunno, if Trump decided he wanted to nationalize spacex on the grounds of national defense I’d support it.
I mean, I get what you’re saying. But I’m also sure the orange regime would find some way to embezzle a trillion or so more of our taxpayer dollars in the balance.
Yeah I was being tongue in cheek about supporting trump, but I still think nationalizing spacex is a good idea. Having the value of Elon’s company making up such a huge percentage of everyone’s retirement account and then having no oversight over his actions are fucked up. Not to mention the military implications of star link. Dude needs to be reined in
I feel like a lot of the problems could be solved if you could get some low potency stuff instead of the weapons grade stuff they all sell.
You could just smoke less. I would rather inhale as little as possible. Use a one hitter and both problems solved. Lighter on your wallet too. Then there’s always the option of mixing in CBD or something as a buffer if you prefer to smoke giant blunts or something for ego.
Yeah, but smoking(well, in my case, vaping the dry flower, but same thing really) something is part of the fun for a lot of people. You sit there, occasionally taking a puff, and it’s all part of the relaxation ritual.
So when I imbibe, I would inevitably get totally zooted if I smoked the stuff I used to get online, or lived in America.
Hapily I live in Australia, and the only dealer I know is an old lady who sells bush weed of questionable quality at best, and I carefully don’t look for any other sources. So I can sit there and take constant little hits and get pleasantly stoned as fuck without having to worry about things like inability to walk.
You can still get stains marketed as high CBD/low THC that don’t get you blitzed. As a skeptic of the claimed benefits of CBD, I still go for those because I don’t want to melt into my couch.
That is excellent news. If Australia ever goes legal, I can seek out those variants.
Those are harder to find for me in the US. They were a thing for a while then just vanished. So now I just buy cdb by itself and mix it in. Still kinda hard to find CBD locally, but online has some really amazing options. If and when it comes to you hopefully it’s not like that.
The potency is crazy. I don’t get the edibles.
“Take 1/4 of this and it will wreck you”
Why would I eat 1/4 of a gummie bear and save it for later? Why can’t I just eat a bowl of gummies, through the night, like beer?
Who wants to eat a bowl of gummy bears? Make it chips and it’ll be self sustaining.
Fry some tortillas in cannabutter
I like a little canabutter in my coffee sometimes
Yeah I think lower grade potency would really see a market. Like gimme some ditch weed that I can tell usee to be a brick and that I can pick the seeds out of. Those old head supply lines gotta still be around right?
Idk what’s available where u are at but I can legally purchase anything from what I would describe as green crack that a bowl of will have me off my rocker to some mid ass outdoor shit that a joint of wouldn’t get my left eyeball stoned. The last state I lived in did not offer any “cheap” weed however, not sure why more variety is available up here
That market would be incredibly niche.
Yeah, it will never happen again either.
That would suggest you’re buying shit that supports cartels.
Yeah the more I think about this the worse it gets
The THC seltzers solved that problem for me. Where I live, plenty of 2 and 5mg options for those with low tolerance.
Just grow it yourself.
Boy it will be like a sitcom when a bunch of old Millennials will describe to their teenage black market pot dealers what it was like when it was legal.
it’ll be old hippies talking about the days before the controlled substances act all over again…
