I think that’s the key, yes.
Ah shit it’s på Danish. Dansk Twitch streamer, kom og vær med til at snakke om børneopdragelse og filosofi mens vi gamer!

I think that’s the key, yes.

Not on paper. But I honestly think Rutte was kind of used as some sort of liaison by our Danish officials (And perhaps some actual adults in the US administration if there are any), because he is quite good at talking the toddler down. We Danes have an exceptional relationship with NATO. We have a highly experienced former minister and former general in NATO that has also worked on the sidelines to communicate with the right people.

Dane here. Here is what has actually happened for those wondering:
Our prime minister and representative had a great meeting with Rutte just before, and also after. Our Danish foreign minister and Greenlandic representative are now ready to talk with the US administration behind closed doors, now that the circus is over.
I think they’d prefer to keep it out of the media, but I think the massive absurdity around this has ended up with their administration showing all their cards, and our officials holding all theirs. Whatever it is they want on paper still can’t be accomplished as far as I can tell, but now they are appearently ready to talk like adults.
It’s very odd, and according to NATO officials, they pretty much just talked about continuing things as usual in the arctic. Because we all know that there is absolutely no threat there. But it is likely to have something to do with Theils and other billionaires investment in mineral search, and perhaps being able to extract Germanium and Gallium from the underground sometime in the future. Because as of now it is not cost-effective, but China holds like 80% of the market.
So yeah, whatever it is they will give to us and Greenland for this, they will have to figure out over a cup of coffee, because now adults can talk. Let’s see how long it lasts though before the real idiots in power over there decide to whisper something in the clowns ear, so we can have another reality show performance.

What a lunatic.

Absolutely. It’s insane.

We really need to be strong in this. When Trump starts to turn his attention to Canada again, I want all of Europe to back up Canada the same way Canada backed up Greenland. We can’t let this shit keep going.

I have seen this speech many times. I think it is going to go down in history, as the speech that correctly identified the end of the american golden age. It is the first important speech in the western world, that was given not by an american for freedom and order, but against america for freedom and order.

Thanks.
And reading the stories of ICE is absolutely terrifying to us too. We are reaching a point where democrats may be forced to consider their 2nd amendment rights.

I’m Danish and I refuse to make this about nationality. I’ve had an immeasurable amount of American friends over the years. I’ve loved your music, your company, your viewpoints, your stories - and I’ve had nothing but respect for you. I’ve been on American social media with you for decades. I’ve laughed at the same jokes as you. I speak your language, I sing your songs, I share an incredible amount of your culture. We learned to celebrate Halloween from you. We wear your clothes. We are your friends.
This is where you’d expect to see a “but”, but there is no “but”. I just wanted to say this, because I refuse to be divided by national borders. The America I see now, is not the America I grew up with. And now I’m fucking crying. It feels like losing a good friend, to some sort of neurological illness. We will always share your values. Not MAGA values, but OUR values.

Let’s see how US ambassadors and diplomats will feel in 5 years, with all the bridges to allies that are currently being burned.

Dane here. Can we just give him Hans Island, and tell him it’s all that’s left of Greenland and Canada now that the ice has melted?

It’s weird how nice most people are when you are face to face with them. Spend enough time on X, and you forget it.

During lower points of my life, I used to drink and smoke and watch his podcast. It felt like hanging out with a friend. But it sure isn’t a friend whose opinions I’d trust on anything. More like someone I’d shoot the shit with, and then completely ignore when he switches to serious topics. I believe he knows his stuff when it comes to martial arts, but beyond that I don’t care much for his takes. Sure, tell me about aliens and how a chimp could fuck me up. That’s what I’m here for. Keep the politics out of it.

I wish people would do thinking themselves, instead of aligning their beliefs with these influencers. Rogan is and has always been fucking weird. I like his interview style, he is good at interviewing rock stars and putting the spotlight on people who are critical of the system.
But damn dude… One thing is that he is so into Trump. The whole Alex Jones saga is even more crazy to me. He has spent so much time defending Alex Jones, who is just the epitome of this kind of nonsensical rambling. I mean, I literally have a diagnosis that leads me to experience psychosis, and even I can tell that many of the people he interviews are completely spinning.
How can he take people seriously on his show, when they are literally rambling off every insane impulse on politics out loud without a filter?
Edit: I should mention though that I respect Rogan for actually speaking out. People in the Trump cult are so afraid of criticizing him, and they go along with anything he says. It’s nice to see someone from that camp actually have a nuanced opinion.

As soon as Trump actually does take Greenland: “Did you even say thank you?!”

I really hope you’re right. Great parts of X seem to be all for it, and usual right wing influencers are also onboard.

Well said, and it really puts it all into perspective. There are vast geopolitical consequences.

I see a lot of right wing influencers arguing a kind of might makes right rhetoric. They say that the US should take Greenland simply because it can, and the US needs it. Which makes me wonder if I as a Dane am morally justified in gathering a few friends, breaking into these influencers homes, kicking them out, and just take up residence. After all, I need their houses, and my friends and I are stronger. Isn’t that so?
I suppose there is no moral obligation for me to obey American laws, if there is no moral obligation for America to obey international laws. If the US is justified in hostile takeover of a foreign democratic nation, then I see no reason why I, as a Danish citizen, should abide by US laws.

Oh absolutely, they get off on it!
Here in Denmark, a climate activist was pushed down by a guard during our kings new years speech a few days ago. Most rational people agree that force was necessary (He didn’t move after being called out), and I agree. But the man was violently pushed to the ground. When he returned to the crowd, someone punched him in the face.
This was not a climate activist blocking public infrastructure, or sabotaging a grid. He pretty much just stood there for a moment with a sign, telling the public “Pull the emergency brake, climate collapse” before he was violently pushed to the ground and punched.

I’m not going to argue whether these things are appropriate, right, wrong, or what amount of force was necessary. But I do want to point out the glee, the frothing of the mouth, the absolute intense schadenfreude of every right-of-center person sharing his picture on social media. Everyone was roaring in approval, not just celebrating violence, but in many cases encouraging more of it.
People absolutely love this stuff. It’s intense tribalism, and it’s getting worse. I don’t remember it being like this 20 years ago.
American friends: None of you deserved this. Watching this shit from the sidelines is insane. Somehow you have normalized it. Like a frog in boiling water. Europeans are turning away now. Everything is about to get really fucking ugly.
