There’s no such thing as a “conservative lefty” or whatever you wrote earlier.
Communist Party of the Soviet Union would seem to be exactly that.

Yeah, “they” matters not about the source, but about what the audience thinks.

Well, all words have different semantics depending on the context and would have none without context. Doesn’t say much.

No. Conservatism can be that and can be skepticism to idealism in all forms.
The Russian example would be the popular belief of some people that presidential power should be made stronger in the 90s, and then of some other people that everything western is just better from the root and larping is enough, and then of another group of people that they can take modern (by year 2012) Russia’s common idea of “respectable” and “cool” and make it compatible with honesty and justice and their own survival.
The American example would be - well, I think Fox News is good enough, what they started with was (of what I’ve read) the typical American idea of “alternative” and “anti-establishment”, which is good in itself, just believing that there’s a side offering that or that there’s a way to move the world in that direction radically, - these are dangerous idiocies.
The “youthly liberal modern” idea of cool of 2010s in the social media, that I’ve recently remembered, is too a good example. When virtually all of the crowd was uncritically accepting that people at whom corporate policies point and say “they are homophobes, extremists and what’s the worst of all - uncool”, are really that.
One meaning of the word “conservatism” is being skeptical of such things. One can be conservative-left. It’s just that people don’t like nuance.

OK, so I’ve been justifying Russians because it’s more risk if you go to a protest, and police can outright kill you without any problem (that we’ll know about and consider fitting), and a different situation and tra-la-la, but honestly perhaps there are societies more cowardly in general with children brought up in obedience, and there are better societies.
People here exchanging experiences of throwing nasty shit right back at the police and still being free (of what it looks like from their comments), - that’s something really inspiring.
And perhaps I’m a coward, haven’t gone to a single protest in my life, except for a couple of speeches with unfortunate audience, eh, not sure how that affected what transpired after.

An interesting thought for sure, a thought about preparing for winter with, eh, expected uncertainty and fuel crisis started to form in my head. Like framing the balconies and additionally insulating old balcony doors and such stuff. Not even speaking about a reserve of matches, salt, sugar, canned meat and such.

It’s not about EV vs ICE, it’s about automation in production, which really is important, if you like to talk about billionaires stealing the future, then from Marx to, eh, Norbert Wiener many people wrote that eventually heavy industries won’t need low qualification labor anymore, and where the society turns at that point is a political problem.
It’s those conceptually capital “means of production” right here. Or you can look at TSMC, though. Or Windows, or Linux, or Firefox. All capital things.
But yes, those who can’t make the transition are at a disadvantage. Unless the gap is reduced in some way, it’s political again.
Anyway, those unfit dying have been a thing for a long time.
Well, if we reach that, your support is also not very meaningful.
