Because women have a similar problem where they are viewed as sexual conquests or objects to be won- just for existing. So you’re a little sensitive about noticing if someone sees you as a bad person, and I might be more sensitive on if someone sees me as an object not a person. It really is two sides of the same coin, and we all have more in common with eachother than we have differences.

I am am old lady though and I assure you that your insecurities about women feeling unsafe around you is more about your awareness and not necessarily reality. Frankly harassment and all that crap is just background noise for women IRL anyway so a chill dude who I have a normal interaction with isn’t gonna register on my radar regardless of how he looks. Just my lived experience is plenty of “normal” men are unsafe in some way, so when I see any signs I don’t brush them off. And the signs aren’t basic “likes and get along with children” double standard stuff. I’m not bristling at dad’s on playgrounds or uncles with good relationships.

I abhor the reason the law was put in place but at this point in time it isn’t exactly the same weapon it was then. A poor equivalent would be if suddenly it was a law that everyone who went to any protest had to have an individual permit or be swept away. But if that law was enacted 20 years ago you would probably just do the paperwork to get it. This is my understanding of history at least. This isn’t like the black panthers where there is some organized cause with a leader, goal, and message. It’s just random Americans REALLY pissed off on both sides and I’d like for there to be some roadblocks thanks.

If you see this happening and you’re a local call 911, or get a local to. Not police but 911, and report a crime in progresssay you “saw people getting into a vehicle with weapons and no seat belts at this location.” And this is like a magic code to summon the cops to actually do their jobs. The point is to make them cite all these nazis and that means getting identification, usually cops put the ID in front of the bodycam.

Basically the goal is the hinder these fucks in their work but most importantly strip them of their anonymity so that they face the social and legal consequences.
