That’s also when they started putting “In God we trust” on our money. Assholes.

Oh look.
Bread has become expensive,
so here come the circuses.
When this is over, we need to recreate that famous photo of Mussolini a few hundred times all over DC. (You know the one.)

Because the Ars article adds additional context cataloging the history of Exxon’s deception. Didn’t you read the article?

I respect your argument and acknowledge your conclusion. However, I choose to ignore it.

Nah. If people say it, and aren’t mocked or corrected, it’s a word. We’re keeping irregardless out of our lexicon by force, so help me flying spaghetti monster.

New to me. Thanks, regardless!

thank you for your service

I even voted for him
irregardless
Well I know what kind of guy got duped by the dumbest con man in politics

Can you make one that’s “progressives vocally against Democrats in an election year” on the top and “right wing agitators” on the bottom?

Now he’s “done with the president.” Well he’s fucking term limited so he bravely made his choice after he no longer had the option to make it.

We did.
Then we decided not to use them.

Cheap, fast to build, doesn’t appear obvious from the air, hard to destroy with conventional weapons. The drawback of damaging the container when you use it wasn’t considered as big an issue back when we knew what the words “strategic” and “emergency” meant. When the administration creates a new crisis every week to distract from the Epstein Files, it suddenly seems insufficient.

I think what makes Flock (and Axon, Motorola, etc.) particularly repulsive is the inability to opt out. I can leave my phone at home. I can choose not to bring Smart Devices into my home to spy on me. If there’s a Flock camera at the exit of your neighborhood, your comings and goings are being monitored 24/7. (Before anyone mentions it, I can completely disable and deenergize the “SOS” feature in my car.)

I could imagine plenty of normal people going to work for a company that purportedly wants to use technology to improve the security of communities. A naive person may not think, “wait, isn’t this turning my country into a dystopian surveillance state?” Nobody that works for ICE got there naively. They were selected from the worst America has to offer.

As stupid and lazy as they are, their main problem is being infinitely, shamelessly corrupt.
I feel the pendulum swinging back the other way, but I fear there may too many ropes in place to keep it suspended on the side of fascism. I guess we’ll see.
