I think that sometimes enforcing particular speech can act as cultural wedges that distance the people instead of bringing them together. kind of like “latinx”. nobody asked for that lol.

I work with big international groups too, and they refer to us as the Americans, it just seems like a non issue. after all, the official name of our country has the word america in it. does any other country in north or south america?
