It’s funny how he’s been caught lying so many times on situations involving Epstein, yet he still expects people to believe he didn’t require girls trafficked by Epstein.

So we (the working and shrinking middle class) are still paying our taxes. But now our taxes are going to Argentinian ranchers, and gaudy and unnecessary ballrooms.
Meanwhile those who are financially willing and able are helping out their family, friends, and neighbors in need to not starve. Which is basically an unofficial extra tax - on top of the extra expenses charged to us via frivolous tariffs.
What a fucking joke. Every time I think the government can’t get any more flagrantly greedy and irresponsible, they find a way.
As I recall, there were some fiscal shenanigans with that, which led to the budget looking balanced/with a surplus but it wasn’t exactly that way. Something about kicking some debt into future years.
But still, your point is still good. We were far better fiscally then than we are now. It’s pretty horrifying to see how far we have gone off track over the last 25 years. Especially since the ‘party of fiscal responsibility’ was the one that send to have caused the majority of that debt.

A) because they have more money than they know what to do with it.
B) because they think that greasing his palms will help them schmooze and collude with even more ultra-wealthy people, and get them even more money and influence.
The world is collapsing under the weight of totalitarianism, climate change, pollution, escalating conflicts, terrorism, tariff battles, supply chain issues, job losses, diseases, and various other huge challenges. And this is the bullshit they are focusing on?!

Based on the latest South Park episodes, we all know why.
I didn’t know about this before. But sadly I’m not surprised. And I won’t be surprised if it happens in other countries too. Especially the US. The corporate and political climate in most countries is ripe for exploitation by robber barons. Eroded safeguards and unbridled corporate greed are not a good combination for the average blue- or white-collar person trying to save for retirement.
The ultra wealthy already got their ‘tariff dividend’, in the form of not tax breaks and a discrete heads-up of when to play the market to real maybe amounts of extra wealth.
As for the rest, this offer is just more bullshit. If it does surface (which is very unlikely) there will be some strings attached. And it will in no way fully compensate most people for the turmoil caused by these tariffs.
