This is a solution for people who don’t need a solution because they’re already great parents.
The vast majority of parents aren’t going to take their kids’ phones away.

I don’t get it. This “ban” is going to last days or hours before the kids just find an app that does’t check their age.
It also will allow the big platforms to drop any pretence that their users need to be protected and take the gloves off with their algorithms to increase engagement to replace the kids.

All he really means is people should learn to accept sub minimum wage and be happy they have a shitty job.

My cats breath smells like cat food.

Yet it’s still Twitter.

I wouldn’t say he’s a grifter…he’s definitely got leftist credentials…but he’s also terminally online and really cares about “clout”.
I’m sure he would argue that he’s fighting fire with fire…and I agree with that to an extent: we need somebody operating in those spaces to provide an alternative. But he’s not just reposting content there…he’s genuinely addicted. If he were to be making a coherent argument to remain on Twitter…every single post he makes should include a tagline to a competing platform where you can read his entire post until he’s banned.
If you claim to be a journalist you don’t actually need to be on Twitter…you can just use an aggregator.

…and it’s so easy.
There nothing more irritating than listen to Krystal Ball complain about how Elon ruined groups chats, or whatever she’s addicted to on Twitter…then immediately afterwards platform a leading leftist activist who also uses it.

To be fair…the site link is literally still Twitter.

I wish we could say that - but those terminally online leftist “influencers” like Kyle Kukinski are completely addicted to it.

It drives me insane. Most of the top so called leftists are fully addicted to it and treat it like it’s an essential medium.

If you hate Musk…stop using fucking twitter. Nothing grinds my gears more than all these leftists who are still fully addicted.

I mean…I don’t expect a war…what I expect is some made-for-TV explosions and some fake body counts. Then I expect the right wing to start attacking, killing, and exiling the leftists with impunity.

Far-out.
By “neutral” they mean “don’t try to reflect your visitors in the gift shop, make sure everything is for white people”.

You haven’t really engaged with anything I said. You’re just repeating more inform from the article and what is generally known.
It is a fact that, rather than simply bringing existing ID into “compliance” (some are, and some aren’t - and for a reason you haven’t sufficiently explained these non compliant states appear to be Democratic) there is an entire new system being superimposed that, which you like it or not, was sold to the states as a revenue source. Additionally, the feds are collecting massive amounts of data that was formerly considered private.

Sorry, I’m referring to the “better is better” argument many so-called liberals make: where we’re presented with a false choice and make apologies for one of the bad choices. Democrats v Republicans is an example. In this case it’s Destructive capitalism v Nuclear Capitalism. I just can’t say nice things about Costco because they’re part of the continuum of late stage capitalism that lead to what we’re seeing today.

Yeap.
But Franco was still Franco…with his own purges, massacres, and various other fascisms.

The notion that Costco is providing a benefit to families is grotesque. They were just in on the ground floor of destroying our socio-economic fabric. A world full of Costcos is just a different capitalist hellscape.
I’m basically done with the “better is better” argument…it’s a false dichotomy. It’s why I compare Costco to Franco: at least Franco didn’t do a holocaust.

Our “liberal” government is indistinguishable from 80s/90s conservatives.

It’s gross that I have a single good thought about an abomination like Costco. It’s like cheering for Franco to overthrow Hitler.
It’s been going on since ~1900. Before that they were friends, often brothers in arms.
