this is exactly my thought too. I am only replacing, and buying food. I am in the market for a guitar but those aren’t typically made with obsolescence in mind plus they can be repaired which goes into a local persons labour which I am also ok with.

but yes, everything is just… why… it’s so saturated with junk that I’ve checked out completely.

lol, I stopped consuming during the price gouging when COVID happened. I saw the greed and just… stopped. screw their cheap shit. it’s not that I can’t afford it, I actively refuse to keep buying stuff and watch it break in 6-8 months needing to buy it again.

I’m accustomed to just ignoring anything that isn’t exactly what I’m after, and I blame corporations 100% for this. street signs hidden around 100s of ads, company slogans and more ads, company logos…it’s all disgusting, distracting and in all honesty dangerous.

not worth it. home gym is 10x better then anything they would provide. the constant harassment for my information before even knowing the price or terms is enough to never consider them legit imo.

I was interested in signing up for a gym once…when they asked me for the 8th time within the first 10 minutes for my personal information after repeatedly telling them no…I left and told them I don’t trust any of them with my information, or to let me cancel after the fact. they were clearly data hungry.

I bought my own gym equipment and never looked back.
