A crowd-sourced verification system used by Elon Musk’s X failed to flag a vast majority of false claims related to the U.S. midterm elections – including those promoted by the billionaire – a study said Wednesday.

Community Notes, which allows users to contribute notes that add context or corrections to posts, was introduced by X in late 2022 and the same model is increasingly being adopted by other tech platforms.

But researchers have repeatedly questioned its effectiveness in combating misinformation.

NewsGuard, a U.S. watchdog that rates the credibility of news and information sites, identified dozens of posts on X that advanced false claims related to the elections, including bogus allegations of election fraud.

I’m still stunned when people keep posting screenshots of that shit like it matters if it agrees with us.

Like, there’s actual real life breathing humans who think the existence of community notes means it’s fine to keep using twitter.

If anyone ever goes on twitter, you’re not fighting anything or doing whatever you think you are

You’re just giving Elon more money that hell use to fuck our country over.

But at this point we kind of have to accept that some people are just this addicted to the ahittiest social media

HITH is this surprising? X is privately owned by a fascist. It is a vehicle for propaganda and lies now.

Humans are too weak to resist using their stupid fucking social media platforms. Keep destroying the world one tweet or Facebook post at a time. Y’all suck ass
