  • More to the point, in America, the USDA regulations allow for hard pack ice cream to have up to 40% of its volume expanded with air.

WAAaaaay back in the early 2000’s after Unilever bought them, I bought a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla ice cream and got home and it sat on the counter and melted - much to my dismay - (It ended up under a towel and did not get put away.)

When I opened it, the level of ice cream in the container had dropped down by almost a quarter. What the hell? So I got another pint and at that time noticed that it was easier to scoop - a sign that there’s air being incorporated.

    Yeah… nope. Done.

Haven’t bought Ben & Jerry’s in over 20 years. (besides, there’s a real homemade ice cream shop around the corner from my home - it’s what I get now and I support the woman that runs it.)

  • You and I are so on the same page with this. The next President - if they are a Democrat, should use Trump’s “Presidential Immunity” in the administration of recouping tax dollars for the American people and write up an Executive Order, taking Trump Tower, Bedminster and Mar-a-lago, selling the lot and using the money to remove and rebuild everyting within the Federal Government with his name on it. Also, using the precedent established by Trump to use the DOJ for personal vendettas, they should be instructed to disassemble all of the Trump Organization’s holdings and repatriate those billions.

I imagine such moves would force the GOP to get on board with putting teeth into the laws that set the checks and balances between the Executive, Judiciary and Legislative branches, and set that back up again - this time with steep criminal sanctions if those laws are violated.

  • Ain’t that the truth.

If you pull up the ewg.org working map of the perflouro- contaminated sites in the country, it’s horrifying.

Thing is, if the Pro Publica article is correct, these chemicals are afflicting male reproductive viability at the EXACT same time the Trump Administration’s cabinet is filed with natalist-leaning advisors… and they just don’t see it as going into part of why men are fathering fewer children.

They lay the blame on feminism and the birth control pills.

Thing is, globaly, male fertility has been falling for decades. Wanna bet part of it is tied to chemical exposure?

    But… we won’t go there…
