Nidal may not be being executed for blasphemy/speaking out, but people in the US are absolutely being targeted for their beliefs and political leanings (on top of the classic skin color based arrests). Some are jailed, some are charged and released but still have to deal with the process, illegal deportations, and others are just disappeared outright.

That part is hardly an exaggeration.

Team Bonesaws is definitely worse than the Ellisons, but they’re both in the Blight Against Humanity Hall of Fame.

There is absolutely merit to joining the army to acquire skills/knowledge/discipline, but they should be the ones to sell it as such. US just has commercials with cool tech and jerking off about being a warrior right now. I think they’d probably do a lot better if they focused on what can be learned or gained.
