I actually still haven’t watched it! I’ve been told it was fun enough, but I keep putting it off…

In addition to being an insanely popular musician he’s also been in several WWE matches (and actually did great,) has been on SNL, and played the waiter-turned-caddy in Happy Gilmore 2 in a guest spot. So he’s pretty well known. Not to be aggro or suggest that’s the creme de la creme of celebrity, just to let you know the level he operates on. He’s pretty well recognized at a glance to a lot of people.

Right? I’m in my 40s and I’ve razed every 401k I’ve had to survive and move between jobs.

I imagine if the multimillionaires are feeling it, the billionaires already are as well. They’re probably just better at keeping quiet about such things

I recall the gumball machine at my childhood barber being a penny in the mid 1980s. I don’t recall when it went up exactly, but it was around then. I was born in 80 so I was pretty young when it happened. But yeah, even then the convenience store in the middle of town had a candy aisle with lots of 5 cent candy that made picking up pennies worthwhile.

I also remember in the later 80s when I began reading them, comics were $0.75 each. Over the next 15 years they went to $3, until I was in college and my comic habit was just too expensive, so I stopped the monthlies completely.

You’re closer to a “gamedev” than me, then. You’re an actual “dev” of some type! That said, I’m still trying to find the character of /c/gamedev, so feel free to toss in things you want to see there.

Hey, I’m just a hobbyist. (I’ve tooled around with the programming and made a few things I never released, but I work in journalism, and not games journalism!) If there’s a community you want to help, the best thing you can do is comment, upvote, and when possible, make a post. And if you want to RUN one, trying is better than just letting things not exist. If people don’t like it, they can downvote your posts. That’s fine too.

To anyone else out there thinking about this? Do it. I took over /c/gamedev a couple of months back. Not because I dislike anytging about r/gamedev, but because I want more than one place for that kind of thing on the Internet, and am beginning less of a fan of reddit itself.

(And yes, it’s slow going, especially with the holidays and job hunting. But I’m okay with that.)
